Chief Minister To Launch Tanjung Manis Halal Hub Seminar In Tokyo
KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), July 2 (Bernama) -- East Malaysia state of
Sarawak's Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud will deliver a keynote address and
officially launch a one-day Tanjung Manis Halal Hub seminar at Mitsubishi
Corporation in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by Sarawak Information Department Monday,
Taib and members of the delegation will also visit the Mitsubishi Corporation
Museum, Sony Showroom "Square" and SME University as well as having a lunch
meeting with Hitachi Limited.
Others who will also speak at the seminar will be former chairman and senior
advisor to the Board of Mitsubishi Corporation Misako Sasaki and Japan Malaysia
Association chief director Takakazu Ogawa.
After the launching ceremony, there will be panel presentation with the
panel members comprising Malaysian Investment Development Authority Tokyo
director Mohd Hashim Abdul Ghani, Chief Minister’s Department State Planning
Unit director Ismawi Ismuni and Chief Minister’s Department Halal Hub Unit
director Samat Junai.
Ismuni will talk on Investment and Business Opportunity in Sarawak Corridor
of Renewable Energy (SCORE) while Samat will speak on Investment and Business
Opportunities in Tanjung Manis Halal Hub.
Meanwhile, Advisor of Regional Corridor Development Agency and former
federal minister, Rafidah Aziz will give a special address on Malaysian
Investment and Economic Review, followed by closing remarks by Mitsubishi
Corporation Malaysia general manager and chief executive Koichi Wada.
State Industrial Development and Public Utilities Minister Amar Awang
Tengah Ali Hasan will also deliver a closing remark at the seminar.
Other members of the delegation are State Secretary, Mohd Morshidi
Abdul Ghani, assistant ministers Mohd Naroden Majais, Len Talif
Salleh and Julaihi Narawi, Tanjung Manis Member of Parliament Norah Abdul
Rahman and Director of Land and Survey Department, Sudarsono Osman.
