MIFB to Generate RM100 Million in Business Deals

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- Expomal International Sdn Bhd expects the 13th Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB 2012) to generate RM100 million (US$31.7 million) in business transactions, from close to RM100 million last year. Director of Group Corporate Affairs & Marketing Wee Teck Kee said the trade fair this year is expected to attract 20,000 trade visitors compared to 19,000 last year. "This year's trade fair is well participated by over 350 organisations from around the world, taking up more than 500 booths," he said at a media briefing here Wednesday. He said the trade fair will see participants from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New zealand, Poland and Turkey, and over eight pavillions from Malaysia, China, Korea and Taiwan. About 2,000 business matching sessions are targeted during the trade fair, compared to 1,800 sessions last year, he said. Held at Putra World Trade Centre PWTC) on July 12-14, the fair, themed "Bringing You the Flavours of Malaysia, is co-organised by Expomal, Utusan Group and Mutiara Sigma (M) Sdn Bhd, and will showcase food and beverage products and services as well as innovations and technologies. -- BERNAMA
