RI CONSULTATE GENERAL IN HAMBURG TO HOLD BUSINESS MEETING

Jakarta, Oct 16 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Consulate General in Hamburg in association with the Liberal Democratic Party (FDP)'s economic and manpower committee in Hamburg held a business meeting themed "Hamburg meets Indonesia" at the Salo Partner building in Hamburg.

Social and Cultural Education Consul Yayat Sugiatna told ANTARA here Thursday that the meeting will be followed by Hamburg businesspeople visiting Indonesia.

Indonesian Consul General in Hamburg Teuku Darmawan said the business meeting was aimed at expanding cooperation between Hamburg and Indonesia.

The economic, investment, and manpower cooperation seeks further future cooperation opportunities.
In the meantime, the Indonesia-Hamburg trade has been constantly expanding each year, which was indicated in the balance of trade between the two sides in 2007, in which Indonesia's imports to Hamburg reached 714.1 million Euros, and Indonesia's imports from Hamburg reached 127.4 million Euros.

In the meantime, FDP Economic Committee Chairman Rolf Salo said in his address on the occasion that the meeting was aimed at seeking opportunities for boosting economic cooperation between the two sides.

On the occasion, the Indonesian Consulate General invited Hamburg businessmen to attend an Indonesian export products exhibition in Jakarta from October 20 to 26.

It was also proposed at the meeting to establish sister-city cooperation between Hamburg and Jakarta, such as Bandung-Braunscweig amd Padang-Hildesheim sistercity cooperation.
