Jakarta, Oct 17 (ANTARA) - House of Representatives (DPR) deliberations on the presidential election bill are expected to be completed on October 22 or two days earlier than originally scheduled. a legislator involved in the bill's formulation said.
The discussions would be finished earlier than planned as House party factions were able to come to terms on some crucial issues in the bill, Ferry Mursyidan Baldan, chairman of the House Special Committee (Pansus) on the Presidential Election Bill, said here Friday.
House discussions on the bill had now entered their final stage and the bill's drafting team had already reported the results of its work to the Working Committee (Panja) on Thursday (Oct 16), he said.
Therefore the Special Committee was scheduled to have a working meeting with the government on October 20 to listen to a report from the Working Committee and make a first-level decision.
Baldan also said he had reported on developments in deliberations on the bill's to the House's Consultative Body (Bamus) on October 16.
"Bamus has agreed to our proposal to hold a House plenary session on the bill on Wednesday (October 22) which is to be followed up with the second stage decision," he said.
