UAE a success model, says UAE envoy in Australia
Canberra, Aug 15, 2012 (WAM) - UAE Ambassador to Australia, UAE Non-Resident Ambassador to New Zealand Ali Nasser Al Nuaimi has said the UAE democratic model is not only a theory, but it is applied model that addressed the real objectives.
Al Nuaimi added in an article published by Arabic language local daily Al Ittihad yesterday that "We reflect the UAE's image, accomplishments, current and future visions, and the invitation to participate in effective development". He called for creativity, and not for imitation, simulation and love of the herd policy.
He underscored that the UAE possesses the most successful federations of the world through which the state has thawed all differences among all emirates.
The ambassador said the UAE Constitution explicitly states that the freedom of expression is guaranteed within the limits of the law. "It is a contemporary constitution, which defines powers of federal institutions and bodies of local authorities in each emirate, taking into account the differences and provides for the independence of the judiciary as one of the most important signs of the civilised nations".
He stressed that the model of a modern state did not overshadow the noble and ancient tribal traditions in the UAE such as brotherhood, compassion, advocacy and advice, and this is "characterised by the UAE community cohesion among children and the elderly, and more reflected in the cohesion between the people and rulers." Al Nuaimi said the UAE is a model of tolerance, citing that it attracts expatriates who double indigenous people nine times. He added that about 200 nationalities enjoy stability and protection and good living standard in the UAE.
Over four decades, he continued, the UAE has registered the living standard that is similar to those of advanced countries, indicating that the UAE leadership and officials have made the country economic, social and cultural hub for peoples worldwide. "This did not come from a vacuum, but came through a sound system of government that set a framework to employ the capacity of people to score the achievements." – Emirates News Agency, WAM
