An international conference welcomes the initiative of the

Astana, October 17, SPA -- The International Ministerial Conference
held in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the title
"Common World - Progress through Diversity" today expressed the
welcome and appreciation of the countries and organizations
participating in the conference for the initiative of the Custodian
of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to convene the
Madrid Conference for dialogue among religions, faiths and cultures.

In a final communiqué, the conference also welcomed the convening
of an extraordinary high-level session to be held by the United
Nations General Assembly next month to extend support for the
initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Dr. Nizar bin Obeid Madani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,
led Saudi Arabia's delegation to Astana conference.
