Chris John To Fight Thai Boxer Priyapinyo In Singapore

Semarang, C Java, Oct 1 (ANTARA) - Holder of the WBA Super Champion featherweight title, Chris John is scheduled to fight for the title against Chonlatarn Priyapinyo of Thailand on November 9 in Singapore, an assistant manager has announced. Toni Priatna, assistant manager of Herry`s Gym, when contacted here on Monday said that the Thai boxer has 44 wins, including 27 knock outs in his record, but John has registered 47 wins (including 22 knockouts) and two draws. In his last fight, Priyapinyo defeated the Philippines` Richard Olisa in Thailand on June 1 this year with a technical knock Out (TKO) in the sixth round. Meanwhile, John retained his 16th championship title after defeating Japanese Shoji Kimora on points in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on Saturday evening May 5 this year. Asked about John`s preparations to fight the Thai boxer, Priatna said that the Indonesian boxer has been concentrating on his exercise in Jakarta and is being trained by his manager Craig Christian, apart from previous training received in Australia.
