NBTC submits documents on 3G phone licence auction for examination
BANGKOK, October 245 (TNA) - Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Board (NBTC) has sent documents relating to its recent 3G mobile phone licence auction to four relevant agencies for further examinations to ensure transparency.
NBTC Secretary-General Thakorn Tanthasit told reporters Wednesday that the documents were first sent to the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Office of the Ombudsman.
Thakorn said that the sent documents include those on the first auction attempt by the then National Telecommunications Board (NTB) and the auction process by the NBTC covering auction preparation, public hearings and the announcement of auction conditions.
Thakorn acknowledged the documents should prove that the 3G licence auction was transparent and meet international standards. (TNA)
