FIFA allows Thailand to use futsal stadium in Nong Chok
BANGKOK, October 31 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) thanks the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for allowing Thailand to use its Bangkok Futsal Arena in the capital's Nong Chok district for the upcoming Futsal World Cup 2012 tournament.
BMA Spokesman Wasant Meewong told journalists Wednesday that FIFA has agreed to allow Thailand use the stadium in Nong Chok for the quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds of the tournament, set on November 14, 16 and 18 respectively, on a condition that the wood flooring of the stadium is to be completed within November 5 and safety facilities are in good place then.
The spokesman said that the BMA thanked FIFA for the resolution, and that the BMA had supervised closely the construction of the stadium structure, with techniques applied to speed up the construction but all the work adhered strictly to safety.
The spokesman acknowledged a special match was organized on Tuesday to test the stadium and its systems concerning power, safety, public utilities, toilets, medical services, traffic flows, seats and displays, etc. to ensure that the stadium would be ready for the Futsal World Cup 2012 tournament.
According to the spokesman, wood flooring ordered from Malaysia and Taiwan has already arrived, covering a total of 1,250 square meters. The import from Malaysia will cover about 800 square meters and that from Taiwan about 500 square meters. Flooring material from Italy will later arrive on November 2 and the installation should take 1-2 days. (TNA)
