DRAFT RESOLUTION SUBMITTED ON ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The cabinet on Thursday submitted to the Speaker Z.Enkhbold a draft parliamentary resolution on additional expense for the elections of Citizens' Representative Khurals of City's districts, aimags and soums. By the law on these elections, altered in September this year, the state registration body is obliged to reflect in its budget all money for salaries and trainings for its officers and assistants, for delivering facilities to and from election committees, for working out electorate lists, for the police work, and to spend them purposely. It turned to be that these money are not placed in the budget package of the Minister of Justice--the state registration belongs to--when the budget clarification was adopted this September. A sum of 1,843,4 million is required, and it can be taken from a remaining of 2012 budget of the General Election Committee (GEC), the cabinet says. The matter is that the GEC has some 2.4 out of 3.8 billion togrog that were lawfully given as a one-time assistance to political parties with mandates in parliament on results of parliamentary election this year.
