Thai PM congratulates Obama on electoral victory

BANGKOK, November 8 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has officially congratulated incumbent US President Barack Obama on his victory in the November 6 presidential election, securing his second four-year term at the White House. Yingluck said in a statement that Obama’s remarkable victory was a reaffirmation of the trust and confidence the American people have in his leadership and she wished him every success in his second four-year tenure. The Thai prime minister acknowledged that Washington's focus on Asia has been welcomed by Thailand and other countries in the region over the past four years. The Thai premier also underscored close relations between Thailand and the United States, which will reach 180 years in 2013, saying that Bangkok looks forward to working with Washington on a continual basis to further strengthen their partnership for mutual benefits of both countries and their citizens.
