PARTIES AND COALITION ARE "FOR" FAIR ELECTIONS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The parliament faction of democrats, the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) members in parliament and the "Justice" coalition (Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party and National Democratic Party) have appealed to all political forces to fairly run for the upcoming elections of the Citizens Representative Khural of aimags, soums and the city's districts. They will run November 21. A joint statement with the appeal was released on Friday caused by ongoing dispute about breaching rights of voting and being voted. They also urge people to actively vote. The statement says the localities' authorities and heads of electoral constituencies must not carry out illegal actions like restricting the rights of voting and being voted by selecting candidates with a political purpose; must not influence a court's decision on tackling disputes over a electoral committee; must not use local budgets for the elections activities if not otherwise stated in laws; and the media should provide people with balanced information and news avoiding the violation of rights of people to obtain information and express opinions, and so on. The joint statement has been inked by D.Erdenebat, a head of the DP's faction; N.Battsereg, a head of the "Justice" coalition's faction; and N.Enkhbold, a leader of the MPP members. B.Khuder
