BANK OF MONGOLIA: MONEY SUPPLY INCREASED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A money supply (broad money or M2)--at the end of October 2012--reached MNT 7,132.6 billion, increasing 20.4 billion or 0.3 per cent against September, and by 1 054.3 billion or 17.3 percent against 2011. At the end of October 2012, a currency issued in circulation reached MNT 717.6 billion, decreasing MNT 28.0 billion or 3.8 per cent against the previous month and increased MNT 22.7 billion or 3.3 per cent against 2011. Loans outstanding at the end of this October amounted to MNT 6,855.4 billion, decreasing MNT 11.9 billion or 0.2 per cent against the previous month, and increasing 1 633.5 billion or 31.3 per cent against 2011. Principals in arrears at the end of October reached MNT 132.5 billion increasing 15.5 billion or 13.2 per cent against the previous month, and by 61.5 billion or 86.6 per cent against the previous year. The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 306.2 billion, going down MNT 0.1 billion or 0.03 per cent against the previous month, and going up by MNT 41.3 billion or 11.9 per cent against the same period of 2011.
