VICE FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS HIS COUNTERPARTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Participating in the Foreign Vice Ministerial Consultative Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) members and observers, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Gankhuyag met on Tuesday with his counterpart of the Russian Federation (RF) I.V.Morgulov. The Vice Ministers emphasized an importance of keeping a frequency of the mutual high-level visits, and agreed with a necessity to organize a regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission this year in Ulaanbaatar. They also have shared views on wide issues of the bilateral relations and cooperation. They discussed some international issues such as participation of Mongolia and Russia in the economic relations of Asia-Pacific region. Present at this meeting were D.Idevkhten, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia; O.Dambiinyam, the Ambassador-at-Large of Mongolia; A.B.Kulik, a director of the Asian Frist Department of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and R.I.Zhuravlev, a head of the section for Mongolian Affairs. Before this meeting, the Vice Minister Gankhuyag met diplomats of Mongolia's Embassy to Russia to give to them information about policy, activities of the new cabinet and of Foreign Ministry. Related directions and recommendations have been given to them as well. ** ** ** The Vice Foreign Minister D.Gankhuyag has met Jawed Ludin, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and discussed with him the Mongolia-Afghanistan relations. The sides considered issues such as developing of the bilateral relations, opportunity to open diplomatic missions, Mongolia's participation in the reconstruction in Afghanistan. Thet also exchanged views on the multi-lateral cooperation such as forwarding Mongolia's proposal on landlocked countries' cooperation, and establishing a related multilateral agreement. B.Khuder
