MONGOLIANS IN EUROPE COMPETE IN BASKETBALL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The 7th traditional basketball competition among Europe-based Mongolians took place November 10-11 in Stockholm, Sweden. Co-organized by Mongolia's Embassy in Sweden, the National Union of Sweden-based Mongolians and the "MGL" club, the tournament has attracted over 300 people from the Great Britain, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Russia, Czech Republic, Turkey and Sweden. They have competed dividing into 32 teams in age categories "senior" and "youth". The "MGL" team of Mongolians in Sweden became a winner of the men's senior category; the "One generation" team--a winner of the women's senior category. In the men's youths category, a team of "German" Mongolians won a gold medal; the "MGL" team--in the women's category. Winning two gold and two silver medals, the team of Mongolians in Sweden took the first place and received the Challenge Cup. B.Khuder
