Iran says will do its utmost to help restore peace to Syria

TEHRAN,Nov.20(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Islamic Republic will do everything in its power to help the Syrian people and government to restore peace and tranquility to their country.
Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with Kojo Tsikata, the special envoy of Ghanaian president, in Tehran on Monday.
Commenting on the Syrian national dialogue meeting, which was held in Tehran on Sunday, Salehi said that the Islamic Republic will make every effort to help restore peace and security to Syria.
“It is the Syrian people, who should make decision on their destiny and national sovereignty, and the Iranian people and government only prepare the ground for holding the dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition groups,” he stated.
Salehi also described Iran-Ghana relations as close and emphasized the necessity to make efforts to enhance ties in all areas, particularly in the area of economy.
During the meeting, Tsikata expressed satisfaction with the results of his trip to Tehran and said that his country is keen to promote relations in all spheres.
He also called for the promotion of Tehran-Accra cooperation in the internationals organizations, particularly in the Non-Aligned Movement, to which both Iran and Ghana are active members.
