Iranian petrochemical complex's output exceeds nominal capacity

The Kermanshah Petrochemical Complex has produced 341,000 tons of petrochemical goods in the first six months of the Iranian year, which began March 20, the company's managing director said on Monday.
It is while the complex's nominal production capacity for the mentioned period was 330,000 tons, the SHANA News Agency quoted Mohammad-Reza Mirahmadi as saying.
Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi said on November 5 that the country's installed petrochemical production capacity will reach 100 million tons by the end of the fifth five-year economic development plan (2015), the IRNA News Agency reported.
The country's installed petrochemical output capacity is currently about 55 million tons.
The managing director of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran said in August that the Petrochemical exports from Iran to Asian markets have been rising due to the increasing demand as well as lower transportation costs compared to other destinations.
Abdolhossein Bayat told the Mehr News Agency that despite global sanctions, petrochemical exports to Asian markets have increased by 30 percent in weight and 10 percent in value in the current year.
He added that the national petrochemical output is projected to be boosted by 5-5.5 million by the end of the current year.
Based on the reports, 17 Mehre Mandegar projects are underway in the petrochemical sector of which six projects have made progress between 90 to 99 percent while the other 11 projects' progress stand at 50 to 80 percent.
