UAE's FNC condemns Israeli aggression on Gaza

Abu Dhabi, Nov 21, 2012 (WAM) - The Federal National Council (FNC) of the UAE has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip. FNC, in a statement, also urged the international community, regional powers and parliaments of countries to shoulder their responsibilities and exercise maximum pressure, in line with the Charter of the United Nations, towards halting the attack and put an end to Israel's aggressions and to the threats they pose to regional and international peace and stability. FNC's statement stressed that "this evil aggression must not pass unpunished" and that "condemnation and denouncement are not enough to stop the Israeli killing machine." "Israel's continuous aggressions on Gaza and its unjust blockade on the Strip are blatant violations of international humanitarian law and charters," it said. FNC also greeted the Palestinian people's rejection of injustice and the Israeli occupation and reiterated its solidarity with Palestinians in the face of Israeli aggressions. It also stressed the need for Palestinian national unity and urged for speeding up efforts towards Palestinian national reconciliation to ensure the restoration of the rights of Palestinians to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
