Georgian PM promises to establish two funds

Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov.22 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia / Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Iavnishvili intends to establish two funds. They are an Investment Fund and Agriculture Development Fund, Ivanishvili told reporters on Thursday. The Investment Fund will bring together all well off people of Georgia who wish to invest in it and ultimately this fund will assist people doing business. "This fund will also be designed to create conditions for the development and improvement of the economic situation in the country," he said. Ivanishvili also said that the budget of the Agriculture Development Fund will be equal to one billion lari. "This fund envisages opening a new enterprise in every region which will create new jobs," he said. For the development of the agrarian sector, Ivanishvili considers it important to start moving towards the establishment of trade relations with Russia, which will open the Russian market for Georgian products. He said it will give a new impetus to the development of agriculture in Georgia. Ivanishvili stressed the efforts of new Agriculture Minister David Kirvalidze and special representative on Russia Zurab Abashidze in this regard. Do you have any feedback?
