PRESIDENT RECEIVES JEAN-JACQUES ANNAUD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received on Thursday Jean-Jacques Annaud, a French film director, film producer and screenwriter and three-time laureate of the Academy Awards. Mr Annaud thanked the State Head for an audience, and said he is happy for visiting Mongolia. He pointed out that Mongolian old films are being restored in France as the countries have been developing their cultural ties. "France has plenty of experience to contributing to the development of films, so my goals of visiting your country are to get au fait with Mongolian custom and nomadic civilization and to seek an opportunity to make a film about it," he said. In response, the President mentioned that there are many good films about Chingis Khaan, and suggested Mr Annaud for doing a film about Mongolia. The French film director and producer Jean-Jacques Annaud is well known around the world for his popular films such as "Seven Years in Tibet" starred by Brad Pitt, "The Bear", "The Lover" and "Enemy at the Gates".
