Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian judoists of the national selected team won medals in the Tokyo Grand Slam tournament which ran last week in Tokyo, Japan. Mongolia was represented by ten judoists. On the second day, a State Honored Sportsman Kh.Tsagaanbaatar won a bronze medal in the men's 73 kg contest defeating his opponents from the Republic of Korea, Japan and Belgium. It is his fourth medal in the Tokyo Grand Slam. The next day, an international master of sports B.Temuulen captured a bronze medal in the men's -100 kg contest. He beat his rivals from Japan and Germany. ** ** ** The president of Mongolia's Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) J.Otgontsagaan was elected a member of the Executive Board of the Asian Sports Press Union (ASPU) at an election meeting last weekend in Kuwait. He has become the Executive Board's member for the fifth time. Apart of Mr Otgontsagaan, Mongolia was represented at the meeting by Ch.Otgonbaatar, the first deputy president of the MSJA, by B.Tsagaanbaatar, the Secretary-general, and by D.Batjargal, a sports journalist. After 22 years, the ASPU president Mr Park Gap Chul retired from the post and has become a honorary president of the ASPU. Faisal Ali-Kanai from Kuwait was elected the new president of the ASPU, and Askari Ahmadi--the ASPU Secretary-general. B.Khuder
