DEPUTY PM MEETS NAT'L EMERGENCY AGENCY HEAD OF S.KOREA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State Emergency Commission D.Terbishdagva received Wednesday Lee Ki-hwan, the head of the National Emergency Management Agency of the Republic of Korea. The Deputy Premier noted that the S.Korean government has been giving many kinds of an assistance and aid to Mongolia in frames of the action to strengthen the national capacity of combating disasters, for instance, a financial aid of USD 100 thousand was given to help overcome an aftermath of the "zud" disaster which hit Mongolia in 2009-2010 winter. Mr Terbishdagva expressed a willingness to collaborate with S.Korea in renovating and improving skills and knowledge of the Mongolian emergency servicemen and requested Mr Lee to focus on it. Since an establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1990, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea have become strategic partners, fruitfully cooperating in the socio-economic sector.
