Iran's Agriculture Among World Top Twenty Countries – Official

Tehran, Dec 9, IRNA – A senior official of the Agriculture Jihad Ministry Nasser Tavakkoli said Iran's agriculture is among world’s top twenty countries. He told reporters on Sunday that Iran has gained remarkable position in the world in the agricultural sector especially in the past four years. According to the official, Iran ranks nine in the world and first in the Middle East in producing fruits, indicating the potential and capabilities of the country’s agricultural sector. The country has been experiencing a four-time growth in agricultural products in the post-revolution era, thanks to the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, he noted. Tavakkoli further announced that Iran produces 107 million tons of agricultural products annually./end
