China Main Export Destination Of Riau

Pekanbaru, Dec 10 (ANTARA) - China has become the largest export destination for Riau`s commodities other than oil and gas, a regional official said Around 18.9 percent worth US$1.8 billion of Riau`s exports went to China in the first nine months of this year, head of the regional office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS)Mawardi Arsyad said. The second largest export destination for non-oil/gas commodities is India to which exports were valued at 1.59 billion in the same period, Mawardi said. Other destinations included Malaysia to which exports valued at US$817.84 million and the Netherlands to which exports valued at US$720.24 million. In September alone, Riau`s exports of non-oil/gas commodities were valued at 1.19 billion , up 26.89 percent from the previous month. However, cumulatively exports of the commodities fell 5.36 percent on-year to US$9.47 billion in the first nine months of the year. Crude palm oil still dominates Riua`s exports of non-oil/gas commodities accounting for 66.33 percent of its total exports of the commodities. Its exports of CPO were valued at US$6.2 billion in the January-September period. Altogether, Riau`s exports in September were valued at US$1.75 billion, up 10.58 percent from the previous month, BPS said. However, its exports of oil and gas fell 13.24 percent to US$558.98 million in the same period. Cumulatively, its total exports were valued at US14.53 billion in the nine months period , down 4.51 percent on-year.
