PM MEETS OIL PRODUCTION PROJECTS MANAGERS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag Thursday met managers of projects on production of oil products and liquid fuel.
Seven projects out of 15 have been started to produce petroleum from oil and gas and liquid fuel from coal.
The Premier and the projects managers focused on technologies to be exploited and time needed for launching the productions. Since it is obvious that the consumption of gas fuel will rise further, a domestic source is needed for intensifying researches into producing gas and liquid fuel from coal and introducing the latest technologies, the project managers said, and introduced the Premier to four projects. In terms of raw materials, it is possible to use not only coke and fossil coal, but also a brown one for the production. These projects really need the governmental support, they added.
Apart of these projects, there are three on production of petroleum from oil. These projects' implementers can solve the financial matters themselves, the Premier said.
It has been calculated that raw materials should be firstly imported from foreign countries, for Mongolia has not developed yet an infrastructure to transport oil to the refinery and has 34 per cent of the final products.
The projects teams asked the Premier to take part in the implementation of the projects, to exempt the products from some taxes, and to support the purchase of products.
In response, the Premier promised to support at a policy level several projects.
