CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Saturday decided to fix a maximum number of vacancies at some offices and sections under a management of the Minister of Environment and Green Development. It means that the Office of climate change will have seven vacancies, the Animals and plants protection committee of Mongolia--three, the National committees on soil protection and combating desertification and on ensuring a bio-security--one vacancy each. - The cabinet backed in principle draft amendments to the laws initiated by the President--on the court of Mongolia, on legal status of ja udge, on the court administration, on legal status of a lawyer, on legal status of a citizens' representative of court, and on conciliation mediation. A bill on the rule for adhering to the package law on court was backed as well. - The cabinet also backed in principle a draft new wording of the law on setting up court and a draft resolution of parliament on approval of judges vacancies. Proposals on these drafts will be conveyed to the initiators. - The government considered as necessity to make Mongolia a corresponding member of the General Conference on Weights and Measures, the senior of the three Inter-governmental organizations established in 1875 under the terms of the Metre Convention to represent the interests of member states. Related obligations have been given to D.Terbsihdagva, the Deputy Prime Minister; and L.Bold, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. - In accordance with the cabinet decision, B.Bold was appointed the General Consul of Mongolia to Irkutsk city of Russia; Ts.Ganbold--to Ulan-Ude (Russia); B.Byambadorj--to Hohhot (Inner Mongolia, China); Tso.Ganbold--to Hong Kong; and Ch.Kulanda--to Osaka (Japan). - The Minister of Environment and Green Development S.Oyun was authorized to sign a document on creating a law-carbon partnership for development to be established between the governments of Mongolia and Japan. - Deputy head of the Oil Authority G.Olziiburen was appointed the acting head of this authority.
