China Launches World's Longest Route Of Fast Train
Beijing, China, Dec 27 (ANTARA) - China has launched the world`s longest-route of fast train which covers a distance of approximately 2,298 kilometers of Beijing-Guangzhou route with an average speed of 300 kilometers per hour.
The fast train of G80 Beijing-Guangzhou departed for the first time from Beijing West Railway Station here on Wednesday.
The G80 Beijing-Guangzhou has to get through a distance from Beijing (in northern part of China) to Guangzhou (in southern part of China), with a stop at Zhengzhou (in the middle part of China).
The Beijing-Guangzhou route can now be reached within only eight hours by using the fast train, which is 12 hours faster than the conventional rail.
China has now become the third country in the world that used fast train with a very long route to connect cities in the country, in which China has built the systems and technology for a fast train since 2004.
According to ANTARA monitoring source, on the first day of operation of G80 Beijing-Guangzhou, almost all carriages of the train was full of passengers, both business and economy classes.
"We build the entire systems and its technology independently after learning from other countries, starting from operating system, security system, up to internal communications," said Prof. Jia Limin, an expert of high speed rail lines from Jiaotong University of Beijing.
According to Jia, China currently has about 10,000 experts and engineers from universities, research centers, and companies in the field of railway that work to boost high-speed rail technology in the country.
"Using the high-speed rail is not only a way of life for the people of China, but it has also become an indispensable part of effective and efficient life to support the national economic growth," Jia stated.
