Biggest Floral Arrangement Goes Into Malaysia Book Of Records

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- The initiative by Malaysia's Indigenous People's Trust Council (Mara) to create the country's biggest bunga pahar (floral arrangement) is rewarded when it is entered into the Malaysia Book of Records. Mara deputy director-general of entrepreneurship Mohd Rosdi Ismail said the bunga pahar standing 6 metres with a diametre of 12 metres comprised 7,000 bunga telur (egg flower) filled with salted egg. Egg flower is an important tool in Malay wedding. "Staff of Federal Territory Mara and Federal Territory Giatmara took five days to complete the bunga pahar, including four days to boil the eggs," he told reporters at Mara Wedding Festival 2012 at Medan Mara building here Sunday. The four-day festival which began on Dec 27 ended Sunday. He said the bunga telur would be distributed to several welfare homes and given away as souvenirs to guests who attended the ceremony Sunday. It also hosted a bersanding (enthronement) for a less fortunate couple in collaboration with Federal Territory Baitulmal. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
