Phillipine Beauty Crowned Miss Tourism International 2012

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), Jan 2 (Bernama) -- Rizzini Alexis Gomez of the Philippines beat 55 other contestants from all over the world to be crowned Miss Tourism International 2012 on New Year's eve, here Monday night. Miss Tourism International 2011, Malaysia's Aileen Gabriella Robinson, 23, handed over the crown to the 22-year-old Philippine beauty. Gomez (fourth from left) received a scholarship worth US$32,914 (RM100,000) from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, cash prize of US$3,291 (RM10,000), a jewellery set and other prizes from sponsors. Present at the event was Malaysia's Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Maglin Dennis D'Cruz. It is a platform to promote tourism for the host country and at the same time promote peace, goodwill, and friendship among participating countries. The 18-day event saw delegates engaging in many promotional and charity activities.
