Russia and Islamic world forum on King's initiative for dialogue

Jeddah, October 27, SPA -- Dr. Nizar bin Obeid Madani, Minister of
State for Foreign Affairs, and President of Tatarstan Mintimer
Sharipovich tonight co-opened the fourth meeting for the Forum of the
Strategic Vision Group: Russia and the Islamic World, organized by
the Foreign Ministry under the title "King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz
Initiative for Dialogue among followers of faiths and cultures, a new
perspective to international relations".

In a key speech, Madani dealt with the expected outcome of the
initiative to which the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has called for last July in the
Spanish capital of Madrid.

He said the initiative was well-timed amid spreading violence and
rejection of others in a war-and-conflict-stricken world.

He said the Kingdom's policy was based on communicating and on
quelling tensions among religion followers on one hand and improving
the profile of Islam on the other and recognizing peaceful
co-existence in a world of peace and understanding.
