People Warned Of Dengue Attacks In Palu

Palu, C Sulawesi, Jan 31 (ANTARA) - The Palu health service warned the local people of potential danger of dengue, saying the disease usually attacks during rainy season. Over the past month dengue already attacked 48 people in Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi, and one of them died, the health service chief Emma Sukmawati said. Emma asked the people to immediately send people having symptoms of dengue to hospital for treatment. "Delay in treatment could be fatal, "she said here on Thursday. Dengue cases have been reported in a number of other areas in the country after rainy days in the past month. Last year , Palu had 1,051 dengue cases with six victims dead mainly on delay in medical treatment.
