BANDUNG TO HOST SEMINAR ON PALESTINE
Bandung, W Java, Oct 29 (ANTARA) - West Java's provincial capital of Bandung will on Saturday host a seminar on Palestine themed "Concrete Action to Return Al-Aqsha Mosque to the Muslim Fold." a spokesman for the event's organizers said here on Wednesday.
The seminar would amongst others feature Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Fariz N Mehdawi and Palestine Chief Ulema Sheikh Fariz Harara as speakers.
The keynote speech would be delivered by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Adhyaksa Dault, M Encept Zarkasyih, chairman of the seminar's organizing committee, said.
West Java Governor Achmad Heryawan would also address the seminar.
He said other speakers at the event would include the president of the Southeast Asian Ulema's Secretariat, Dr Abdul Ghani Shamsudin, the director of Malaysia's Tanjung Utara Culinary Technology Institute, Dt Dr H Rusly Abdullah PhD, KISPA Secretary General Ustadz Ferry Nur, West Java Ulema Council Chairman Drs KH Hafidz Ustman, Hisbullah's Imam H Muhyidin Hamidy and other speakers.
Encep Zarkasyih said the seminar would be held in an effort to publicize the fact that Al-Aqsha mosque which belonged to Muslims was now facing a threat from Zionist Jews who had plans to demolish the mosque.
Besides the seminar, other events such as a grand prayer service and a photo exhibition on the Islamic world would also be held at Bandung's Grand Mosque on Sunday.
