Larijani Talks With Counterparts From Oman, Kuwait, Jordan

Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA – Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani talked over phone with counterparts from Oman, Kuwait and Jordan on Tuesday. Larijani condemned recent air raid of the Zionist regime against Syria and underlined his support for Syrian people against the Zionist invasion. According to the report of Majlis News and Mass Media Bureau, in continuation of his consultations with counterparts, Larijani discussed the latest developments in the region, especially recent aerial invasion of the Zionist regime against Syria with Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al-Maawali, Omanˈs Parliament speaker, Ali Fahd al-Rashid, Speaker of Kuwaiti National Assembly (Majlis al-Umma), and Speaker of Jordanian National Assembly Taher al-Masri. Larijani said that the Zionist regime, by taking advantage of current regional developments and problems in Syria, has attacked against an Islamic country. He added that the Zionist regime is the enemy of Islamic world and it should not be allowed to continue its aggressive policies against Islamic states. He said that instability in Syria is in direction of interests of world hegemonic powers and the Zionist regime, adding that weakness of Syria is an opportunity for the Zionist regime and in direction of its interests. Omanˈs Parliament Speaker Sheikh al-Maawali, by underlining his countryˈs stance in condemnation of recent air raid of the Zionist regime against Syria, said that the Zionist invasion is very ominous and shameful and in direction of aggressive policies of the regime against Arab and Islamic countries. He expressed hope that the Syrian situation would move toward tranquility and bloodshed and violence could be stopped as soon as possible. Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Ali Fahd al-Rashid, for his part, condemned the aerial invasion of the Zionist regime and said that Kuwait strongly condemned the invasion and called for a decisive action against such an aggressive move of the Zionist regime. The Jordanian Speaker of Majlis al-Umma Taher al-Masri also condemned the attack and said that the sole way to settle Syrian problem is negotiation and peaceful manners. He said that violence would never have a desirable outcome. Al-Masri said maintaining Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity and stopping violence in the country is very important and stressed that Jordan will support every initiative to create tranquility and security in Syria and is ready to cooperate with Iran in this direction./end
