Thailand, New Zealand ink education collaboration pact
BANGKOK, March 8 (TNA) - Education New Zealand, under the New Zealand Embassy to Thailand, and Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School of Thailand have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on education collaborations, aimed to encourage Thai students to study in New Zealand to boost their English proficiency.
The MOU signing ceremony was presided by New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Tony Lynch and President of Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School of Thailand Dr. Taweesit Sisaradej at the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok on Friday, during which representatives of the New Zealand Embassy and networks of the Srinagarindra school, as well as journalists witnessed.
The New Zealand top envoy to Thailand acknowledged that the agreement provides a good opportunity for Thai students to study in New Zealand, an English speaking country, to improve their English skills.
According to the New Zealand top diplomat, the MOU also helps further strengthen bilateral relations between New Zealand and Thailand, on top of their long standing education ties and cooperation so far.
Under the MOU, Education New Zealand, an organisation which promotes and supports studying in New Zealand, runs a project on education collaborations between schools in New Zealand's Taranaki area with 12 schools under Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School of Thailand, based on the agreed learning horizons and opportunities for Thai students.
