RI's Hayom Advances To 2nd Round Of Swiss Open

Jakarta, March 13 (Antara) - Indonesia`s man single Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka advanced to the second round of Grand Prix Gold Swiss Open 2013 at St Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland, on Tuesday night on early Wednesday in Indonesia. The world`s 25th-seeded player, Hayom, as he was popularly called, needed three games to beat India`s Sourabh Varma, 11-21, 21-18 and 23-21 to move to the second round. In the second round, Hayom will play against Czech Republic`s Petr Koukal who earlier outclassed Vladimir Malkov of Russia in a rubber game 21-12 14-21 21-12. By Tuesday night Indonesia`s man single Andre Kurniawan Tedjono was still waiting for his turn to play against Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong who defeated him in German Open some time ago. Andre also lost to Wing Ki in the two previous matches. In mixed doubles Indonesia`s Alvent Yulianto Chandra who teams up with Rizki Amelia Pradipta advanced to the qualifying round after outplaying Malaysia`s mixed double pair of Wee Kiong Tan and Vivian Kah Mun Hoo 21-19 18-21 21-13. The Indonesian mixed doubles pair will play against the world`s seventh-seed Sudket Prapakamol-Kunchala Voravichitchaikul of Thailand.
