Three killed, 144 injured in explosions in Boston

The number of injured in two explosions at the international marathon in Boston has risen to 144, CNN TV channel reported. Three people were officially reported dead. The state of 17 is rated as critical, RIA "Novosti" reported. The U.S. authorities have recognised the incident as being a terrorist attack. The investigation has been placed under the FBI's control. These explosions make it the largest terrorist attack in the USA during the past eleven and a half years. As reported earlier by the FBI, the motives of the perpetrators have not been ascertained and the situation remains unstable. Special Agent, the chief of bureau in Boston Rick Deslauriers also stated that "the FBI has taken the inquiry under its control." He noted that the investigation will be conducted by "joint efforts of federal and local authorities, as well as the state authorities." According to him, "the investigation is being conducted within the framework of a criminal case which could potentially develop into an investigation of a terrorist act."
