Georgian President proposes government to build new Georgia together

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 19 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / The Georgian United National Movement will begin a new national movement in the country, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at the opposition rally on Rustaveli Avenue today. Over 10,000 people gathered there. Saakashvili said that he is proud that so many people came to support his party. "You were detained, dismissed, threatened, but you can come today, as there is one main thing," he said. "Unfortunately, many do not understand that many things, namely ideas and honor, can not be bought for billions. We are protecting our idea of free and independent Western-oriented Georgia." The President stressed that honest people are gathered on the square today. "We extend our hand to the government and offer to build our Georgia together," he said. Saakashvili called this day as "the day of awakening" for the government as well. Saakashvili also reminded Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili that Georgia is not a small village, as Ivanishvili has stressed. "Georgia is a large country which has recently been an example for many countries," the president said. "If we act with honor, we will unite the country," he said. He stressed that United National Movement will face long and hard struggle, but the opposition will win. The president called this day as a test for the nation, because these people defended the Motherland in 2008. "There are a lot of people on the square," he said. "This is the victory of ours and the government, as it turned out, that our people have the honor and dignity. We will defend our country together." Saakashvili said that Georgia is not going to fight with its neighbors. "Georgia wants to have friendly relations with Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia," he said. Do you have any feedback?
