BROTHER UNCERTAIN IMAM SAMDURA TO BE EXECUTED SOON

Serang, Banten, Nov 3 (ANTARA) - Despite media reports that Bali I bombers Amrozi et al are to be executed soon, it is still not certain that it will happen, a relative of one of the death-row convicts said.

"Until now , they have not been executed," Dedi, a younger bother of Amrozi's associate, Imam Samudra, said here Monday.

He said he storngly doubted his brother's involvement in the Bali I bombing because it was a huge explosion which killed hundreds of people.

"I'm sure that the bomb was an air missile and it was the result of foreign interference," he said.

He said, the 2002 Bali I bombing involved a foreign party because a newspaper had reported there was evidence about the involvement of the British intelligence agency.
Therefore, Dedi said, his family would demand a legal review of the case in which Imam Samudra was involved.

"Right now, we are demanding a judicial review via the Muslim Defense Lawyers' Team (TPM) based on the finding of new evidence (novum)," he said.

Dedi said the Bali I bombing looked like the explosion of an air missile because the blast was too big for any bomb that Imam Samudra could assemble.

Meanwhile, tens of residents of Lopang Gede, Serang, Imam Samudra's hometown, are guarding the village in "BKR" camouflage uniform.

"Visitors and journalists must report before entering the perimeter for security reasons," said Achmad Rosidi (45), head of the Lopang Gede's RW 01 (administrative unit comprising several neighborhood associations).
