Turkey increases gas exports in January-March

In January-March 2013, the Turkish state pipeline company Botas imported 9.71 billion cubic meters of gas from a variety of sources compared to 12.74 billion cubic meters in January-March 2012, according to a statement posted on the official website of Botas.
In 2012, Botas imported 43.09 billion cubic meters of gas from a variety of sources versus more than 39.7 billion cubic meters in 2011.
Turkey also imports gas from Azerbaijan which is supplied via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).
Also, Botas exported 128 million cubic meters of gas in January-March against 112 million cubic meters in January-March last year.
Last year, the export performance of Botas reached 622 million cubic meters of gas compared to 726 million cubic meters in 2011.
In January-March 2013, 11.2 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in the domestic market of Turkey compared to 12.85 billion cubic meters of gas in January-March last year.
Some 41.44 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in Turkey's domestic market in 2012 compared to 39.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011.
