Iran strongly condemns terrorist attack in Iraq

Tehran, May 21, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman strongly condemned terrorist act in Iraq in which a number of Iranian pilgrims and Iraqi citizens were martyred or injured. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Monday, Seyed Abbas Araqchi said that such terrorist acts are in contradiction with moral and human principles. By expressing condolence to the victimsˈ families, Araqchi said that such terrorist attacks aim to inflame ethnic disputes and create disunity among Muslims. He also underlined responsibility of Iraqi security and police forces as well as Iraq government in protection of lives of pilgrims. A car bomb exploded close to a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims in town of Balad in Iraq on Monday which killed 4 Iranian pilgrims and wounded 17 others.
