Representatives of Georgian Armed Forces Joint Staff visit Afghanistan

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 12 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Representatives of the Joint Staff of Georgian Armed Forces are in Afghanistan. On the instruction of Georgian Defense minister, the deputy head of the Joint Staff Colonel Lasha Beridze, head of Military police department Kakha Chikhradze, Commander of the Eastern Operative Grouping Lieutenant colonel Grigol Chelidze and Chief of the Staff of Engineer Brigade of Western Operative Grouping Lieutenant Colonel Gocha Shavgulidze went to Afghanistan, Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend on Tuesday. They visited the Georgian bases situated in Helmand province of Afghanistan. Commanders of the 42nd and 33rd battalions in details reported to the delegation about the situation. According to Beridze, the motivation of the Georgian soldiers is high and they are ready to carry out the assigned task to the end. Georgian forces have developed countermeasures due to enemy's increased activity and use of new combat tactics, Beridze said.
