Salehi: Resolving Regional Crises Without Iran’s Participation, Impossible

Tehran, June 19, IRNA – Iranian Minister of foreign Affairs Ali Akbar Salehi said here Tuesday solving regional crises in absence of Iran and Tehran’s active participation is impossible.
ˈThe recent presidential election in Iran would lead to progress in Iran-west relations,ˈ reiterated the Iranian foreign minister.
According to al-Mayadeen news website with which the Iranian top diplomat made these comments, when asked about Egypt’s full severing of relations with Syria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran reiterated, ˈEgypt could have played a great role in solving the ongoing crisis in that country.ˈ
Speaking about Bahrain, Salehi said, ˈWe believe the issues in that country must be solved by the Bahraini nation and government, free from all types of interventions by regional, or ultra-regional countries.ˈ
ˈIran does not interfere in Bahrainˈs internal affairs and considers any type of interference in that country quite fruitless.ˈ
He said, ˈIran is ready for efforts aimed at solving the remaininh unresolved crises in the region.ˈ
Salehi said, “In my recent meeting with my Saudi counterpart in Jeddah we both surveyed the existing misconceptions on the two sides, including security issues.ˈ
Salehi said that Iran is the golden key of the region.
When asked about his own future, the Iranian top diplomat said, “I feel proud of serving at any position in the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and whether or not I would remain serving as the foreign minister is a matter that depends on the Iranian president-elect.ˈ/end
