Papua Business People Set To Focus On Welfare Of Papuans
Jayapura, Papua, July 18 (Antara) - The Chamber of Tradition of Papua Business People (KAPP) said it has been set up aimed at improving the welfare of Papuans.
Dominggus Urbon, chairman of the West Papua branch of KAPP, said KAPP is a forum of all types of associations, working councils and business councils of Papuan business people set up to help improve the welfare of the Papuan people.
"KAPP constitutes a manifestation of the spirit to develop Papua taking part of the government resposibility," Dominggus said here on Thursday.
He said KAPP is also aimed at protecting traditional land and riches of Papua.
"Therefore, Papuans themselves are expected to be able to manage Papua`s natural wealth with greater confidence," he said.
He said KAPP has representatives in almost all districts in Papua and West Papua.
KAPP encourages Papuan business people and to have greater confidence in business to be able to help the local people in Papua.
"Papuan business people could help other Papuans through KAPP," Dominggus said.
He said KAPP could offer guarantee for banks providing credits for Papuan business people.
