RCA volunteers offer 5600 work hours to agency's Ramadan activities in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Aug 12, 2013 (WAM) - Some 137 Female and male volunteers in Abu Dhabi worked for over 5600 hours in serving Ramadan initiatives and activities by Red Crescent Authority (RCA) in Abu Dhabi alone, said the Secretary General of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA), Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi. On daily basis throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, the volunteers attended to, and guided the fasting guests at RCA's Iftar banquets at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, as well as worshippers and the visitors at the complex, according to Al Falahi in his remarks at a recent visit to RCA's Ramadan tent at the mosque. RCA volunteers also took an active part in the distribution of Iftar meals in Abu Dhabi and in a public health awareness campaign and helped people with special needs, children and women at the grand mosque which was the centre of RCA's Ramadan philanthropic initiatives. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
