Shoura Council holds session
Riyadh, November 10, SPA--Presided over by its Chairman Dr. Saleh bin
Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council held its 53rd session here
today.
In a speech at the outset of the session, Dr. bin Homaid valued the
care and attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the success of his historic
initiative that called for dialogue between the followers of
religions and his quest for giving it an international attention and
coverage which resulted in its adoption by the United Nations and the
holding of a conference for dialogue between the followers of
religions and cooperation for peace.
The Chairman commended the King's attendance of the opening of the
conference in New York, noting that it comes in the context of his
interest in all matters for achievement of security and peace between
peoples, and promotion of the Islamic culture which calls for
dialogue, tolerance and respect.
In a statement following the session, the Council's Secretary General
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said that the Council approved
the annual report of the Investigation and Prosecution Commission for
the fiscal year 1426/1427H., discussed the annual reports of the
Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu for the fiscal years 1426/1427
and 1427/1428H., and approved the relevant decisions.
