Abu Dhabi to have best-in-class beach club at Corniche

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality announced yesterday that will soon be launching a tender to private sector bidders to develop and operate a high-end beach club using a build-operate-transfer (BOT) arrangement, to further enhance the City's pristine coastline and beachfront facilities for the benefit of residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi.
The beach club will afford a selection of new amenities for both the public and beach club members and also offers an opportunity for city centre hotels without beach access to offer guests a membership.
The club will be located at one of the most desirable beach locations in the City at The Lagoons Beach near West Plaza, forming part of the city's Phase Two Corniche expansions.
The proposed beach club will upgrade the existing community service facilities through array of middle to high-end food and beverage brands that will be open to the public. Members will have access to the beach and a range of activities including outdoor pools, health club, decking area, relaxation zone, water sports facilities and a children's play area. There will also be ample parking space and underpass pedestrian access from the Corniche.
Rashed bin Ali Al Omaira, Advisor Investments and Assets for the General Manager's Office at Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said: "The project is designed to increase the range of quality public services and amenities available to both residents and visitors. It presents an exciting infrastructure opportunity for the private sector and will continue to enhance the Corniche, which is already a popular visitor attraction." He added: "According to a research by the Municipality many of Abu Dhabi's four and five star hotels have no private beach facilities, so the beach club will also present an opportunity to cater for guests through membership".
The Municipality aims through these projects to enhance the local community service facilities and support the city's hotels, to offer their gusts with more options. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
