Mohamed bin Zayed receives participants in UAE Youth Ambassadors Programme

Abu Dhabi: His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has stressed that the comprehensive and sustainable development based on Emirati human resources represents a cornerstone for progress.
He reiterated that qualified and cultured youth are the foundation for the nation-building and guards for the achievements of the country.
Sheikh Mohamed was speaking to a number of Emirati youth (boys and girls), who concluded their trip to China and South Korea. The tour is part of UAE Youth Ambassadors Programme, organised under the aegis of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The programme aims at developing the scientific, cultural and leadership skills of university students.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said the directives by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, called for supporting Emirati youth and develop their skills, being the future and backbone of the UAE.
"We are pretty sure we have a coming generation to depend on. They have a vision earned from their own experiences and the experiences of others", he said, noting that the youth are capable to shoulder the national responsibilities and tackle challenges.
The participants in the programme briefed Sheikh Mohamed on their activities during the two trips as well as the landmarks, projects and feedback about the two trips. Sheikh Mohamed viewed the video on the tour of students to the main industrial and cultural landmarks in China and South Korea.
He said that the forefathers made sacrifices that brought the UAE to this day. "We have to draw lessons from them so that we exert more efforts to help our children and grandchildren to live in stability, security and sustain prosperity." Sheikh Mohamed said, "We bet on creative and innovative talents to sustain the success achieved so far by the UAE", noting that the course of life is the succession of generations, each generation hands a flag to another.
He added that the technology has made the spacious world a global village, noting that "we are not at a periphery of the global village, but we are active and convey the message of tolerance, peace and charity to the world." Sheikh Mohamed added that the situation in Arab world yesterday requires a good reading of a situation to extrapolate future challenges so as to tackle them.
For their part, the students expressed their pleasure to meet Sheikh Mohamed, appreciating his sponsorship to the scientific initiatives that aim to upgrade the cultural and scientific standards of the students. They added that the programme's tour to China and South Korea had given them an opportunity to learn more about the cultures of others and introduced the UAE culture to them.
The meeting was attended by Abdullah Mohammed Al Butti Al Hamed, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under Secretary of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Jabr Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The participants in the programme represented the scientific specialisations from UAE University, Abu Dhabi University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology and Khalifa University for Sciences Technology and Research and Petroleum Institute.
The UAE Youth Ambassadors Programme is sponsored by the Court of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Chinese and South Korean Embassies. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
