Saudi International Corporate Governance Forum convenes

Jeddah, November 12, SPA -- The Saudi International Corporate
Governance Forum started its works today at Jeddah's Chamber of
Commerce which will last for two days.

President of the Board of Trustees of the College of Business
Administration Dr. Abdullah Sadiq Dahlan, said in his speech that the
issue of governance is very important in the face of rising number of
companies in the capital market as well as the big number of dealers
in the stock market.


Dahlan said the Kingdom in recent years leant towards transforming
the family-owned companies to stock companies. "This process is a
civilization phenomenon demanded by many professionals which will
lead large companies to greater transparency that will serve the
capital market in the Kingdom."

Speaking on the occasion, President of the Saudi Law Center for
Training Dr. Majid Qaroob stressed the importance of governance
saying "The governance is to protect the interests of companies and
funds, which means protecting the national economy and all dealers in
this area "


The first session discussed principles of the International Economic
Development Council (IEDC) in the area of corporate governance.
