BKKBN Sets Its Focus On Toddlers' Nutrition Improvement Programme

Jakarta, Sept 27 (Antara) - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has set its focus on the improvement of toddlers` nutrition in Indonesia`s coastal regions, said its official. "BKKBN will partner with the Health Ministry and the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry to enhance toddlers` nutritional levels in Indonesia`s coastal regions," added Acting Head of BKKBN Sudibyo Alimoeso on Friday. He explained that the toddlers` nutrition improvement programme is a follow-up to Vice President Boediono`s call on BKKBN to prioritise its target audience such as the fishing community in coastal areas. "Therefore, BKKBN will make every effort to create prosperous families who can give birth to children of the golden generation, expected to become reliable human resources," he said. At the World Contraception Day here on Thursday, Vice President Boediono urged BKKBN to partner with other institutions, including the Social Affairs Ministry to achieve its targets. The World Contraception Day is an annual event, held every September 26, where countries and regions around the world demonstrate their commitment to raising awareness of contraception and improving education with regard to reproductive and sexual health.
