UAE seeks to build channels of communications with international civil aviation community: Mansoori

Montreal: The UAE is always seeking to build bridges of cooperation with international civil aviation community, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has affirmed.
''The UAE has developed its civil aviation infrastructure and encouraged initiatives aimed at promoting aviation security and safety, Al Mansoori told a diplomatic reception the UAE hosted for delegates participating in the 38th session of the General Assembly of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which will run through 5th October.
Al Mansoori expressed the UAE's intention to re-nominate itself for membership in ICAO council on the 2nd October elections.
Al Mansoori along with Saif Mohammad Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, Laila Ali Hareb Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Strategy and International affairs as well as Captain Aysha Al Hamili, UAE Permanent Representative at ICAO, accorded warm welcome to more than 190 diplomats attending the event.
This reception celebrated the UAE heritage and culture on the international level and presented the UAE folklore as well as the futuristic trends in the international civil aviation.
The UAE is participating in the event under the theme "Building the Future of Aviation Together ".
At the outset of the event, Roberto Kobeh Gonzalez, President of the ICAO Council, was honoured with the UAE Award in recognition of his distinguished contributions over nine years in office and of his tireless efforts to spur constructive dialogue among ICAO member states. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
